There will also be an airport transfer on arrival and departure to and from your hotel. A delicious breakfast is included for 7 mornings. No activities are included. Itinerary

Day 1: Samarkand Arrival and Hotel Check In

You will leave London Heathrow Airport for your outbound flight to Samarkand International Airport, via Dubai International Airport. On arrival at Samarkand International Airport, you will be greeted by your driver with your name plate in the arrivals section of the airport. From here you will be driven to your 4* Zarafshon Parkside Hotel. This will be your hotel for the duration of your stay and breakfast will be included for the next seven mornings.

Days 2-6: Free Time to Explore Samarkand & Optional Tours

Seven Lakes Tajikistan Private Excursion from Samarkand

Visitors are amazed by the ever-changing vibrant colours of the Haftkul (which means ‘Seven Lakes’ in Tajik), a group of mountain lakes located near the city of Penjikent in western Tajikistan. These lakes are fed by mountain rivers and create stunning landscapes of lakes, rivers, and mountains. To enjoy this tour, a multiple entry Uzbekistan visa or visa waiver is required to re-enter Uzbekistan.

Located only 70 kilometres away from Samarkand, Tajikistan’s town of Penjikent is a must-see destination. Here, one can visit the Ancient Penjikent ruins of an old Sogdian town, which was established in the 5th century and abandoned by Arabs in the 8th century. The remains of homes, a citadel with a couple of Zoroastrian fire temples as well as a city bazaar can be seen in the excavated ruins. Also, Sarazm ruins, a settlement with a civilization dating back 5500 years, can be explored. In 2010, UNESCO added Sarazm to its list of Human Heritage sites.

 

Option 5

Private Excursion to Sharisabz from Samarkand

Take a day trip to the beautiful green city of Shahrisabz, Amir Timur’s native town. Just a 90-minute drive along a picturesque mountain road, dotted with small villages, and you’ll arrive! Once there, explore the remains of the colossal palace, Ak Saray (White Palace), the Dorus Saodat Complex, Dorut Tilavat Complex, the Kok Gumbaz Mosque, and centuries old national applied arts. For those seeking some adventure, there’s a short trekking trip up the mountains, or, for those who prefer to stay on the ground, take a stroll through the local colourful bazaar.
