From London Heathrow you will travel with Virgin Atlantic Airways on a direct flight to Pudong Shanghai International Airport. You will then be driven to your hotel Shanghai Marriott Marquis City Centre for 6 nights during your stay in the city. Breakfast is included for 6 mornings as well as all the five-star amenities within the large hotel complex.

Itinerary
Day 1: Shanghai Arrival & Transfer to Shanghai Marriot Marquis City Centre
On Arrival into Pudong Shanghai International Airport you will be met be you driver and driven to the Shanghai Marriott Marquis City Centre Hotel for some well-earned rest after your long-haul flight. This five-star hotel is perfectly located in the city centre so that seeing the sights is much easier and the hotel is a nice one with some quite spacious hotel rooms and an indoor sun pool to enjoy along with gym, spas and many other top-quality amenities.
Day 2-6: Optional Tours in Shanghai
Option 1: Shanghai Classical Day Tour
The day begins with a visit to the breath-taking Jade Buddha Temple, a treasure of culture and history. Located in the heart of the city, the temple is a sacred space for worshipping the Lord Buddha. The exquisite architecture and intricate sculptures are sure to captivate and deeply move any traveller. Next, visitors will explore the fantastic Shanghai Museum. This world-famous museum houses more than 120,000 incredible artifacts from ancient China. Following this, travellers will explore the world-famous Xin Tiandi District, the perfect place to soak up the atmosphere of Shanghai’s old town. At end of the tour, visitors will experience the majestic Bund, the waterfront stretch lined with iconic buildings. An optional activity on the tour is a Huangpu River cruise for a unique insight into the city’s port development and to experience a stunning sunset.
Option 2: Shanghai Highlights Tour
Yu Garden, a famous traditional Chinese garden with a history of over 400 years. It’s remarkable layout, complete with intricate and pensively designed rockeries, bridges, pavilions, ponds, and flora make it a stunning sight to behold. At Yuyuan Bazaar you can explore a wide variety of unique shops and stores, as well as browse through the many different souvenir and traditional Chinese goods. For a different kind of exploration, the city’s most iconic attraction – Shanghai Tower – provides amazing views of the city from its dizzying heights. Next is the popular Nanjing Road for some retail therapy. Filled with large-scale malls, luxury boutiques, and restaurants, it’s the go-to destination for locals and tourists alike who want to enjoy some modern shopping. Finally, the optional ERA 2 Acrobatic Show is an unforgettable experience for any traveller.
Option 3: Shanghai -Hangzhou Day Tour by High-Speed Train
West Lake, located in Hangzhou, is one of the most famous tourist attractions in China. The lake is the city’s symbol and proudly displays several historical temple complexes, pagodas, and stunning Chinese-style gardens. Meijiawu Tea Village is less than 10 miles away from West Lake. This village has earned a big name for itself because of its famous Longjing tea. Longjing Tea, also known as Dragon Well Tea, is one of the most cherished teas in the world. The last stop is the famous Lingyin Temple. Located at the north-western side of West Lake, the temple grounds include several historical buildings, sculptures, pavilions, Buddhist sculptures, small trees, and many more attractions.
Option 4: Suzhou Day Trip from Shanghai
Humble Administrator’s Garden is a traditional garden that is composed of ponds, stone bridges, and pavilions in the Chinese style and aims to recreate the landscape of a classical Chinese village. A traditional rickshaw ride along the canal visitors can view the juxtaposition of old and new within the city and take in the sights and sounds of the city. Another great experience is exploring the local food markets in the area. There will be a variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, and meats available for purchase and sample. Finally, visitors should make sure to visit the Suzhou Museum. It houses an impressive collection of artifacts ranging from ancient scrolls, books, paintings, and ceramics, to pottery, bronze, and jade sculptures.

Day 7: Free Morning & Departure Flight
There will be a final morning to explore before the city of Shanghai and maybe some final souvenirs to take home from your travellers or for important loved ones. This will be followed by your direct departure flight with Virgin Atlantic Airways back to London. Heathrow Airport.
