Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho, Tra On, Mang This

This afternoon, you’ll be picked up and transferred to the meeting point for a shuttle ride to the Mekong Delta. Upon your escape from Ho Chi Minh City’s hustle and bustle, you’ll be driven to Ninh Kieu Pier in Can Tho, where you’ll board a Bassac boat to begin your Vietnam trip. As you cast off, you’ll be served lunch as you cruise downstream along the Hau River to the Tra On floating market before turning into Nicolai canal and heading towards the Mang Thit and Co Chien Rivers. You’ll have the chance to rest on the upper deck, admiring the picturesque views of rice fields, sugar cane gardens and woods on the banks.

Once mid-afternoon arrives, the Bassac will moor up for you to explore the tranquil countryside and witness the daily lives of local people.
