Itinerary

Itinerary

Day 1: Discover Monkey Forest, the Ubud Traditional Art Market, and Gua Gajah.

We will pick you up from your hotel to explore the art around Ubud. First, you will visit the engaging Ubud Monkey Forest; this nature reserve and temple complex is home to 340 Crab-eating Macaque monkeys. It contains the Pura Dalem Agung Padangtegal temple, a ‘Holy Spring’ bathing temple and another temple specifically for cremation ceremonies. Next, we will go to the Ubud Traditional Art Market, a popular spot for tourists. It also serves as a hub of economic activity in Ubud, close to the Puri Saren Empire. Lastly, you will also discover Gua Gajah (Elephant Cave). This cave is situated at a crevasse edge formed by two streams known as the Pangkung and Petanu Rivers. The name ‘Gua Gajah’ is thought to come from the word ‘Lwa Gajah’, a Buddhist temple or hermitage. There is a relief that looks like a mountain at the cave entrance, as well as grooves, leaves, and animals. The entrance is adorned with a bas-relief featuring an eye looking westwards. After the tour, you will be transferred back to the hotel.
